The best extensions for Internet Explorer 6, 7 and IE8

IE7Pro is an extensions pack which contains numerous modules. It works under IE6, IE7 and the most recent, IE8. Its functions are indispensible for the 6 and 7 versions, while on the other hand, version 8 comes with more onboard options which mean that this pack is less of a revolution. The small changes that it does bring though offer tools that are a little more refined.

Basic functions
Among the base functions, we can note the recovery of the browser in the event of a crash in the same way as Firefox, the super drag and drop which instantly opens a hyperlink in a tab, the quick loading of a proxy, improved tab management, a suite of mouse movement actions (bottom of the page, next page…), the customization of the keyboard shortcuts and address bar shortcut management.

Anti-ad and speek checker
The anti-ad filter is more drastic then ever before, blocking all kinds of advertising. It handles Flash animation, floating or selected images, pop-ups and false pop-ups.

The spell checker uses the same dictionaries as OpenOffice.org, with 16 languages being supported in total.

Personal and confidential data
The auto-completing of the text fields is an interesting option for backing up your passwords and other sensitive information, automatically completing web page fields when required. The deletion of personal data allows you to delete everything with a click (address fields, cookies, passwords, history…).

IE search bar and a window
Instead of seeing the native search bar, the IE7Pro extension installs its own option like in Firefox. This is opened by itself when you start to type text.

It is possible to prevent IE from opening multiple times. This is rather useful for containing JavaScript pop-ups which often open in a new window, or from a program link.
