Facebook Camera: an application for sharing photos

Even though Facebook managed to take control of Instagram, the social network is nevertheless launching a similar application on the iPhone for the publishing and sharing of photos.

Facebook has released a new mobile application which is aiming to simplify and speed up the publication and sharing of photos on the social network. The application is called Camera, although it is currently only available on the iPhone.

It allows you to select multiple photos and publish them all at once. This bulk publishing also brings with it editing possibilities (sizing, turning, filters), and person identification via tapping.

Facebook states that: "When you launch the app, you'll see a feed of just great photos from the people you care about. You can swipe to see more of any album or tap to enlarge an individual photo."

This application made by Facebook is quite surprising as Facebook only announced that they had acquired the Instagram application last month for 1 billion dollars. Facebook was therefore likely working on Camera well before this purchase.

It is therefore likely that the product will be merged with Instagram in the future – as this other program is available on Android – with such a merger being a logical outcome. This confusing situation may not be welcome news to the stock market though...
