The social network Facebook is allowing their members to give their profiles a new look.
In the last while Facebook has made numerous changes to their social network and its look. Changes are now being made to the way new profiles are created, which will be progressively rolled out to users over the next year.
Without waiting any longer, connected users who want to make a change can do so through this page by clicking on the "Change to a new profile". This change, once made, can not be reversed.
The change will take effect immediately. The new profile provides a quick summery of the presented information which replaces the browsing tabs. The tabs are no longer present, and switching to the wall or other information is now done from links located under the profile photo.
A few photos may be present under the summery. These may be recently tagged photos, or pictures in which the user is identified. These photos can be hidden, or a control over their settings can be set. For the photo gallery, the browsing is made easier with unlimited scrolling.
With Friends links, searching has been simplified so that you can find friends by their name, their city or other criteria. In the profile, it is possible to create new groups of friends so that you can also allow each of them to meet each other through the same group.
The Info link provides access to the space where you can provide a lot of profile information. This space has become a lot more visual and allows you to add additional information than in the past so that friends see more of your interests and experience.
When Facebook starts to make such changes, user’s reactions are often a little hostile as they find it frustrating that they can no longer find what they are looking for in the locations in which they have become accustomed. Facebook has thought of this and will make a guided visit of their new functions available during the first use.
