On the quick launch bar to the right of the Start button, you will certainly have seen an icon that allows you to quickly return to the desktop. Very practical, it allows you to display the desktop without closing all of your windows in the same way as the [Windows + D] key combination does. If you have lost this icon and would like to find it, here is how it can be done.
Right click on the desktop and from the drop down menu select “New” and “Text document”. This will open Windows notepad.
Then copy and paste the following lines into the document:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
Now save the file with the name “Desktop.scf”.
The shortcut icon will now appear. You now need to simply slide this icon to the quick launch zone by right clicking with the mouse and selecting “move here”.
