Firstview Electronic HK Limited used the latest CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany, to unveil their PC706V, a very cheap netbook.
Inside this 65 dollar netbook, we find an ARM 9 VIA 8505 533 MHz processor paired with 128 MB of memory, a graphics chip which allows for a screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels on a 7 inch LCD screen, VGA output for connectivity to an external screen, integrated speaker and 3.5 millimetre audio jack for the headphones.
To this we can add a Fast Ethernet controller with an RJ-45 network port, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g for wireless network connectivity, 3G possibility, 2 GB of flash memory and a single USB port. Everything is powered by a 2100 mAh Lithium-Ion battery which provides 4 hours of battery life to the Android 1.6 environment, code name Donut.
It now needs to be seen where this device will be released, as nothing has been communicated about potential markets as yet.
