winners of their Customer Connect Contest. After more than 60 entries
were submitted, Chem-Wise Ecological Pest Management was selected as the
first place winner for its story on how a side-by-side comparison of the
FleetMatics report and their time-stamped fuel statement assisted in
catching a terminated employee stealing gas and helped in saving the
company thousands of dollars.
Second prize was awarded to Jeff Arent from Riccar Heating and Cooling
for his story on how FleetMatics Live Fleet mobile application
capability provided police with the exact location of the thief who
stole a company truck, which led authorities to uncover over $10,000
worth of stolen property. John Schmit at Shot Express was selected as
the third place winner. He described the significant life-saving benefit
they experienced when FleetMatics’ fleet tracking software helped locate
a non-responsive driver who was experiencing a severe reaction to
medication.
FleetMatics’ Customer
Connect page was launched in June 2011 and is designed to give
customers an online forum to share their stories on the benefits they
are gaining from GPS vehicle tracking, as well as learn about new ways
to use the system. FleetMatics customers have complete control over the
information shared and have the ability to take advantage of the new
information they discover through other customers’ experiences. Stories
cover various benefits from fuel savings and reduced speed and idle
times to insurance savings and improved customer service.

Customer Connect Contest winners were chosen for the story that best
answered the question, “What benefits of GPS tracking were originally
unanticipated?” Chem-Wise Ecological Pest Management was awarded 5
FleetMatics Fuel Cards with full integration and the second and third
place winners received $200 Visa gift cards. A new contest will be
announced in May, and the winner will be selected based on their answer
to the following question, “During your FleetMatics training session,
what did you learn the system could do that you didn’t know before?”
