For those that have a considerable number of contacts in their Windows Live Messenger list, it is difficult to follow what is going on with all of them: the changing of a personal message, the changing of a profile picture, and even the change of information in your profile or blog.
The 2009 version brings new functions which should make this task easier. It is presented in the form of a visible band at the bottom of the programs main window, where your contacts are visible, which is title “What’s new?”

You simply have to use the arrows to navigate through the news. The icon in the form of a key allows you to configure the news display so that you can see the kind of information that interests you.

To activate this function it is very simple. Go to the “Tools” menu and select “Options” at the bottom. You then have to go to the “Layout” section and heck the box titled “Display the what’s new zone” and validate the changes.
