FOSE Announces Mobile Government Conference AgendaSessions to Feature Implementation Strategies that Enable the Mobile Government Workforce.

Mobile technology has revolutionized the way government engages citizens and completes its mission. FOSE, the government technology solutions conference and expo produced by 1105 Media’s Government Events Group, is connecting federal decision makers and industry leaders to the policies and technologies currently in place to maintain connectivity securely while on-the-go. In addition to the newly announced Mobile Government Conference, the FOSE expo includes the Mobile Apps Experience – providing hands-on opportunities to experience the latest mobile apps and the ability to ask developers about designing, developing and deploying mobile apps for the government market. FOSE will take place April 3-5, 2012 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

“There is no doubt that mobility has taken center stage in the federal government’s plans to be more efficient,” said Daniel McKinnon, Vice President, Government Events, 1105 Media, Inc. “Surveys indicate federal employees are increasingly conducting daily job-related tasks on their smart phones and tablets. It is becoming imperative that government executives have the practical knowledge to address their key concerns before adopting mobile policies and technologies.”

The policy focused sessions will give attendees an opportunity to learn business best practices in mobile implementation and financing, including lessons learned from the private sector and future trends in advanced mobility. The following sessions will be covered:

Mobile Government: The Business Case for Advanced Mobility

-Conference Keynote: Mobile Government Interactive Discussion
-Applying Advanced Mobility in a Pilot Program
-A Look at the Mobile Fortune 500
-Government CIOs Speak Out on Mobility
-What the Research Shows: The Future of Mobile
-Anytime, Anywhere: Expanded Opportunities for the Workforce

Sessions in the technology track focus on the infrastructure and equipment challenges facing mobile implementation, from setting up advanced mobility ecosystems within agencies; to updating Wi-fi and in-building wireless; to topics of security on smart phones and tablet devices. The following sessions will be covered:

-Mobility IT Infrastructure – “Can You Hear Me Now?”
-Mobile Device Management - A Look at the Options
-Security - Understanding the Threat Vectors

“Mobility has a chance to extend the life of legacy systems by creating elegant interfaces not imagined when the original systems were designed,” said Tom Suder, conference Keynote presenter, Founder and President of Mobilegov and member of the Mobile Government Conference Advisory Board. “The way government is working has changed dramatically. Smart phones and tablets now enable real-time access to information and tools that allow people to collaborate and engage in support of the mission. I look forward to participating in the discussions on mobile challenges and advancements in government at FOSE 2012.”
