GrandOptical Selects JDA Retail Solutions to Optimize Store Space Allocation, Improve Sales and Customer SatisfactionFrench optical retailer looks to optimize space allocation processes and leverage promotional operations across more than 200 stores.

JDA® Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS), The Supply Chain Company®, today announced that GrandOptical, a brand of GrandVision France, part of GrandVision BV, one of the largest European eyewear groups with 2.7 billion turnover in 2010, selected a number of solutions from the JDA® Space and Category Management suite in the second quarter of 2011. The solutions, including JDA® Space Planning, JDA® Floor Planning, and JDA® Space Automation, were chosen to help optimize merchandising processes between headquarters and stores with the aim of improving sales and customer satisfaction.

GrandOptical intends to use the solutions at its more than 200 stores, including 118 franchises located in city and commercial centers, replacing its manual, spreadsheet-based merchandising system supporting more than 3,000 inventory items.

“GrandOptical was looking for a reliable tool to centralize merchandising and assortment processes and support regular updates to leverage the promotional operations that take place every two months,” said Agnès Renard, marketing product director, GrandOptical. “We believe that the JDA solutions will enable us to better structure our product offers and build shelves that will have more impact. Glasses are very small products, so it is critical to enhance and highlight their shelf presentation to attract customers, generate impulse buying, improve the customer experience and increase sales.”

“We are delighted that more and more companies like GrandOptical are realizing the benefits that JDA’s industry-leading space and category management solutions can bring to their business,” said Razat Gaurav, senior vice president EMEA, JDA Software. “By implementing JDA Space and Category Management solutions, GrandOptical can leverage consumer insights, spanning multiple consumer segments, to create targeted and localized assortments and displays across its many stores.”
