Guidance Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: GUID), today announced that its
Computer and Enterprise
Investigations Conference (CEIC) has garnered a Forensic 4cast Award
for Outstanding Contribution to Digital Forensics at the SANS Summit in
Austin, Texas last week. Additionally, Guidance Software’s
market-leading digital investigation tools took the top spots for Best
Forensic Software for EnCase®
Forensic and Best Forensic Hardware for the Tableau TD1.
Now in its third year, the Forensic
4cast Awards provide the digital forensic industry a platform to
nominate and vote for the best people, companies, and products
throughout the industry. Hosted by Lee Whitfield, Forensic 4cast
founder, nominations opened in February and voting took place May 4
through June 5. A complete list of winners can be found at http://www.forensic4cast.com/forensic-4cast-awards/.
“The fact that Guidance Software won three awards is unprecedented; no
single organization or individual has achieved that in previous years,”
said Lee Whitfield, Forensic 4cast founder and host of the Forensic
4cast Awards. “Guidance has made some great progress in the last year. [EnCase®
Forensic] Version 7 looks great and has some serious potential. That
may be why the community came out in their numbers to vote for Guidance.”
About CEIC
Guidance Software just wrapped up the 11th annual CEIC, that
brought together the world’s most impressive experts in the fields of
digital investigations, e-discovery and cybersecurity. Held last month
in Orlando, the conference was attended by more than 1300 attendees from
corporations, government agencies, law enforcement, technology and
service providers, industry luminaries and more. Next year's CEIC
2012 is expected to be even bigger, and will be held at the Red Rock
Resort in Summerlin, Nevada, May 21 to 24, 2012.
“This is an exciting time for the field of digital forensics, and we
believe that Guidance Software is taking innovative steps to bring the
industry to the next level, particularly with the forthcoming EnCase
Forensic V7 that will ship at the end of June,” said Jim Borecki, vice
president of the Forensics Business Unit at Guidance Software.
“Garnering three Forensic 4cast awards validates not only CEIC as the
most successful, well attended and best digital investigation conference
in the world, but also our entire suite of forensic investigation tools.
Our goal is to make digital investigations easier, faster and better –
setting a baseline for the industry to follow.”
