Commtouch® (Nasdaq:CTCH) and GWAVA today announced that GWAVA
has added Commtouch
Anti-Spam to its GWAVA 5 Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam and Content Control
solution for Microsoft Exchange.
“The threat of cyber-crime and sophisticated spam attacks has increased
the need for dynamic, real-time protection,” said Richard Bliss, senior
vice president, GWAVA, Inc. “Working with Commtouch enables us to focus
on other areas of our business, knowing that messaging security is fully
taken care of through its superior technology.”
Commtouch’s Anti-Spam technology is integrated within GWAVA 5, which is
delivered as software, a soft appliance and a hosted solution by GWAVA’s
channel partners. GWAVA 5 is being used across the globe at
organizations running corporate enterprise collaboration systems like
Microsoft Exchange.
“We are highly satisfied with GWAVA and have been using it to protect
our customers since 2004,” said Jim Grant, president of JBK Network
Consulting, a channel partner of GWAVA. “With Commtouch’s Anti-Spam,
hardly any spam reaches our customers’ inboxes, and none of their
legitimate mail ever gets marked as spam, which saves us the headache of
searching through the quarantine for important messages.”
The Commtouch Anti-Spam solution integrates Commtouch's patented Recurrent
Pattern Detection (RPD) technology, which protects against spam
outbreaks in real-time as messages are mass-distributed over the
Internet. Rather than evaluating the content of messages, the Commtouch
GlobalView™ Network analyzes billions of emails in real-time,
recognizing and protecting against new spam outbreaks the moment they
emerge.
GWAVA 5 was launched in January 2011. GWAVA, the number one security
provider for protecting Novell GroupWise mail servers, has been using
Commtouch’s technology since 2008.
“GWAVA GroupWise customers have already experienced the effectiveness of
Commtouch’s technology,” said Francois Depayras, Commtouch’s vice
president, Americas sales and business development. “GWAVA’s addition of
our technology to its Exchange solution ensures that those customers get
the same highly effective solution.”
