Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has received a $10 million order to supply the Government of Canada with Falcon III® multiband manpack radios and satellite terminals.

The Harris Falcon III® AN/PRC-117G radios and RF-7800B Broadband Global Area Networking (BGAN) terminals will provide Canadian military forces with an integrated solution for Type-1 secure voice and data communications in both line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight applications. Integrated together, the radios and satellite terminals support network-enabled applications such as streaming video and collaborative chat.

The field-proven AN/PRC-117G provides unprecedented situational awareness through wideband networking of the battlefield. Software-defined and upgradeable, the AN/PRC-117G enables applications such as streaming video, simultaneous voice and data feeds, collaborative chat, and connectivity to secure networks.

The Harris RF-7800B Broadband Global Area Network product line is a high-performance satellite solution that provides reliable voice and wideband data connectivity for beyond line-of-sight SATCOM-on-the-move and SATCOM-at-the-quick-halt applications. Canada is acquiring both the vehicular-based and mobile RF-7800B BGAN terminals.

With a fully integrated RF-7800B and Falcon III® AN/PRC-117G, users are able to extend their data networking capabilities through simultaneous operation with Harris’ Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform.
