How To Lose All Your Data. Just Install Linux.

Have lot's of pictures, mp3's and other cherished files?
Better be real careful if you decide to install Linux because some
distributions, Ubuntu 12.04 don't always do what you think they will do.

"Even more bad news:

On a brand new Samsung NP300E5A notebook (so new that I haven't even
written about it here yet - stay tuned), with Windows 7, openSuSE and
Linux Mint Debian already installed, when I installed Ubuntu 12.04 and
told it to put GRUB in the root partition (not the MBR), it screwed up
somehow and left the system unbootable. Not good. I was able to fix it
without much trouble, and once I got over that it seems to work just
fine, but that is a pretty big stumble."

crap. A noob would more than likely panic and create a mess thus
destroying their precious data.

Is Linux worth that risk?
I say no.
So do 99 percent of computer users.

So a "noob" is going to be setting up a quad-boot now? Really? And, BTW,
what would this too-smart-for-his-own good "noob" do if he installed
Windows 7 last instead of first?
