Infineum,
one of the world leaders in the formulation, manufacturing and marketing
of petroleum additives for lubricants and fuel, and Nano
Terra, a Boston nanotechnology company founded by Professor George
Whitesides of Harvard University, announced today the continuation of a
product research and development collaboration started in 2011. The
extended co-development program will produce a new class of materials
for Infineum that will enhance its product offering for its customers,
OEMs and end-users.
“This program is an example of the continued focus Infineum has on
developing innovative solutions for the most critical challenges facing
our industry – from creating the first pour-point depressants in the
1930s, to developing novel additives for today’s challenging engine
environments,” said Rick Finn, Global Product Manager for Infineum USA.
“We’re confident that this ongoing collaboration effort with Nano Terra
will lead to new products and improved performance for our customers.”
Eric Keller, Nano Terra’s President, said, “We are excited to continue
our close collaboration with an industry leader like Infineum on a
product that leverages our expertise in materials development, chemistry
and surface engineering. We look forward to working with Infineum to
complete this co-development program and bring this innovation to
market.”
