Insert mathematical formulas into your documents

April 02nd, 2010 - 07:10 am ET by D. T.

The Windows 7 operating system has a relatively practical tool for mathematicians who may often be working on formulas that require symbols that are impossible to find on the keyboard like alpha, beta, cosine and sine. They are able to enter mathematical formula with the help of the mouse, a graphical tablet or a finger on a tactile screen which can then be inserted into a document.

To access this tool, click on the Start menu, and successively open the “All Programs” and “Accessories” menus and select “Mathematical input panel”.

Once in the tool, simply enter the formula which will then be displayed along the top of the screen. This then can easily be copied and pasted into the document.
