The American chip manufacturer Intel has presented their 2010 range of Intel Core vPro processors aimed at the professional market, integrating the Intel Turbo Boost technology with products suitable to all enterprise sizes.
Intel has updated their range of Intel Core vPro processors, promising adapted performance for professional uses like video, IP telephony, social networks and other heavy applications.
They arrive at a fortuitous time, as professional spending during 2008-2009 was limited due to the economical crisis, with the global market only now starting to get interested in spending once more. These chipsets have the aim of attracting companies looking to update their computer hardware which has quickly had to take on new uses which haven’t necessarily been adapted to the existing equipment.
The 2010 family of Intel Core vPro processors uses the new Intel Q57 Express chipset and the Gigabit Intel 82578DM networking solution (or Gigabit Intel 82577LM for laptop computers). It is being supported by a large number of computer manufacturers, while professional software developers are also integrating its new functions.
The 2010 Intel Core vPro family of course uses the Nehalem architecture and 32 nm burning, improving performance as well as reducing energy consumption. On offer are the Core i7 and Core i5 processors and Intel Turbo Boost and Intel Hyper-Threading technologies, providing the processors with flexibility that can efficiency carry out the user’s orders.
Enterprise specific functions
We also find the Intel antitheft technology which blocks the machine if declared to have been lost or stolen. In the same way, the KVM function (Keyboard-Video-Mouse) allows an administrator to take control of the machine remotely to help correct any eventual problems, meaning you will no longer need a dedicated component.
Data encryption is assured by the AES standard, and it can be managed remotely via Intel Remote Encryption Management, while it also being possible to program maintenance operations with PC Alarm Clock.
The 2010 Intel Core vPro range is also addressed at small and medium sized offices thanks to the diverse range of computers on offer carrying these processors, ranging from 15" laptops to workstations operating Intel Core i5 and Intel 3450 chipsets.
