Not yet officially released by Intel, the Ivy Bridge processors have already benefitted from a small price reduction.
Just a few days from the official launch of the 22 nm Ivy Bridge processors – presentation the 23rd of April, for a release on the 29th – Intel has decided to slightly lower the price of certain Core i7 and Core i5 models.
Initially priced at 320 dollars, 285 dollars and 285 dollars, the Core i7-3770K, Core i7-3770 and Core i7-3770s processors will now be 313 dollars, 278 dollars and 278 dollars respectively.
On their side, the Core i5-3570K, Core i5-3550, Core i5-3450 and Core i5-3450s processors will come down from 220 dollars, 199 dollars, 182 dollars and 182 dollars to 212 dollars, 194 dollars, 174 dollars and 174 dollars respectively.
These price reductions aren’t enormous – 8 dollars in the best of cases – but they are still better than nothing. Especially when you consider these are new models and not the dregs of the catalogue.
