Invisible files

Hi,

Files that I copy to the Desktop and library folders aren't visible in
the Windows Open File dialog box. If I move the files to c:\ (for
example), they become visible in the dialog box.

You'll have to give us more to go on than that.

Libraries may be full of magic and mystery, but Desktop is pretty
straightforward. Either you didn't really copy the file there, or
it's not the right type for the program that you're trying to use to
open it.
