Graphical Interface :
The IPCop graphical interface can be slightly personalized, nothing huge but it is possible to change the language. We can also choose to apply the machines name in the title bar of the web browser (can also be setup at the time of installation or via the setup command).
The other options don’t really concern us but they are all quite useful: authorizing of Javascript, activation of automatic refresh on the homepage and the activation of the connection / disconnection bips (this allows us to know if IPCop has successfully made a connection by the sound, useful when restarting the computer when it is without an attached screen or keyboard).
All modifications are put into action with the [Save] button. It is also possible to reset the configuration to factory defaults with the [Restore default settings].
Backup:
Like with any computer system, the breakdown of hardware or software is rare, but does exist. With IPCop it is possible to perform two kinds of backups: one on the machine and the second on diskette.
Backups on the machine are considered like restore points that allow us to return to a previous known good configuration that was working. Multiple backups of this type can be created on the system, and it is possible to backup the system with the date forming the name, restoration is done with the help of the [Browse] and [Import Dat] buttons.
Backups that are performed on diskettes are precious in the event of a severe breakdown. These allow you to completely reinstall your system during the installation phase, where you will be asked if you wish to restore from a backup. This allows you to quickly get your system back up and running (all your settings that were backed up will be restored, without any manipulation on your part). Of course, if your IPCop server doesn’t contain a disk drive or it is not installed then you won’t be able to perform this type of backup ;-)
Stop:
It is possible to startup or shutdown the system remotely with the help of these buttons. Since version 1.4.10 of IPCop you have been able to plan a restart or a shutdown of the system (to the nearest 15 minutes).

IPCop is an OpenSource project under the GNU / GPL license, with a whole community of developers in charge of maintaining and optimizing the project. It is therefore normal that the names of these people appear on IPCop. This list is viewable here. The email addresses of these people are also listed if you need to contact them if you wish to make advancements on the project.
