Issue in VIM

Hi all,

I am running Ubuntu 12.4. From theyre i do SSH to other boxes (debian,
suse a s o…) i use GnomeTerminal in the Ubuntu one. From this computer
in VI, when i am in the insert mode, a simple press on <esc> does not
get me out of the insert mode. A ctrl-c is ok. In standard mode, the
<esc> key work normally. (ex: <esc>:q )

It's get me crasy, I don't find any solution on the Web. Does someone
got an idea ?

Heeelp :)...

Not knowing GnomeTerminal I can only guess. To me it looks like
the ESC key presses are being blocked by your application. Maybe this
behaviour can be changed with some .config file. Corresponding
information should be available from the man pages.
