There are a multitude of free and commercial players to podcast audio and video but in this article we will only be looking at iTunes and its integrated module. You didn’t know that it was possible? Well here is how you can add a podcast by using the iTunes directory or third party URL’s!

1) In the panel on the left of iTunes, click on “Podcast”. Here you will see a screen, which for the moment is empty, where all of your subscriptions will appear!

2) At the bottom of the main screen, point at the “Podcasts directory” link. As you can see, it is possible to “Podcast” audio and video!

3) You have to choose from “Categories”, the theme that interests you. For the moment, you only have access to English streams, so to access podcasts in other languages, choose “PowerSearch”. Here you can select your language, we chose French, and your category followed by the “Search” button.

4) To subscribe to one or more podcasts, you simply need to click on the “Subscribe” button.

5) The audio podcasts will automatically download, with it then being possible to listen to them. This is the same for the video podcasts in the “Shop”.

6) here are a number of different podcast directories available, My Podcast, Podflux, Podcast Wiki, the Podcaster, Podemus are all examples. To subscribe click on the “Subscribe with iTunes” links.

7) To manually add a URL of a podcast to iTunes, simply click on the “Advanced” menu and “Subscribe to podcast”. Copy and paste your link and everything is done!
