“Teachers and students need functional, secure and reliable computing
technology for individual learning environments,” said Michael
Schmedlen, director, worldwide education, Lenovo. “By combining our
innovative ThinkPad laptops specifically designed for education with
Intel’s Education Software we’re giving teachers and students dynamic
tools that maximize knowledge, are highly intuitive to use and keep
students focused.”
“Intel and Lenovo share a commitment to improving the student experience
around the world,” said Larry Carr, Director of Education
Alliance, EMPG, Intel. “As schools decide which technology will debut in
their classrooms this fall, IT administrators and decision makers can
rely on the proven value of Intel Learning Series Software and Lenovo’s
classroom-ready ThinkPad laptops for the ideal learning experience.”
See the Difference in Learning
The comprehensive classroom-ready features and capabilities offered by
the Learning Series software include LabCam, a touch-optimized
application consisting of six easy-to-use scientific inquiry tools
leveraging the camera in different ways, allowing students to analyze
the visual data present in their photos and videos. McAfee® AntiVirus,
included with a 5 year license, offers proactive protection to keep
users’ digital lives more secure.
The WebCam Companion enables media capture and management, noise
filtering, digital archiving and annotation. Additionally, an optimized
e-reader supports multiple formats and annotation, making it easier to
keep track of notes in one central location as they read. Teachers can
remotely assist students as needed and assess work in real-time,
providing valuable feedback while the student learns. The software also
helps teachers organize lesson plans and student work in one central
location for easy access.
Outside of the classroom, parents have the option of setting up the
software as a simple management tool to keep track of homework and grade
assessment from home. While in use, the software automatically changes
students’ access policies based on their location, customizing the
learning environment to best suit a home or classroom environment. The
simplified infrastructure makes it easy to deploy on multiple laptops
and improves recovery, backup and restore functions to mitigate loss of
data or information.
Smart Hardware for Smart Students - ThinkPad X130e and L Series
Lenovo designed the ThinkPad X130e laptop with the toughest school
environments in mind. With a rubber bumper around the top cover and
reinforced corners, keyboard, bezel, hinges and ports, the X130e
provides students and administrators a functional, reliable laptop that
can easily handle a bustling environment. The ThinkPad L Series laptops,
especially environmentally-responsible devices built using the most
post-consumer recycled content of any ThinkPad, boasts low energy
consumption. The laptops feature a hotkey for quick webcam and audio
access so students can link up for group projects within the Intel
Software Series in just one click.
