Like its predecessor Windows Vista, the Windows 7 operating system generates alerts when it detects a problem either in the firewall or antivirus. The only problem is that after a while, these notifications can become annoying. Fortunately, it is very easy to disable these from being displayed.
Go to the Start menu and enter “Maintenance center” into the real time search field.
In the new window which is displayed, click on the “Change maintenance center settings” visible in the left hand frame.
From here, you simply need to check or uncheck the boxes in the “Security messages” and “Maintenance messages sections, and validate your choices by pressing OK.
