ManageEngine,
the real-time IT management company, today announced its plans for VMworld®
2012 to help and advise IT managers seeking to reduce risks
associated with adoption of today’s virtual and cloud technologies.

Manager and OpManager
lead ManageEngine efforts to mitigate security, performance and
operation risks that can threaten virtual, cloud and physical
infrastructure and ultimately degrade end-user experience. ManageEngine
will demonstrate its integrated IT management suite in booth #2340 at
VMworld, being held at Moscone Center in San Francisco, August 26–30,
2012.
Without the proper IT management controls, overburdened administrators
struggle to manage the heterogeneous, multi-vendor infrastructure. Now,
security concerns are emerging due to recent hacks into high-profile
companies. While weak passwords make easy targets for hackers, the
explosion of virtual assets gives hackers more targets to attack.
However, without effective password management practices, strong
passwords simply add to the IT department’s overall burden.
“The VMworld 2012 theme is ‘right here, right now’ to reflect advances
in the virtualization and cloud computing landscape,” said Raj Sabhlok,
president of ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corp. “These advances,
though, don’t necessarily eliminate related risks. Performance and
security concerns go hand in hand with any technology, whether it’s
emerging or established. At ManageEngine, our job is to mitigate those
risks as effectively as possible to ensure IT organizations can give
their customers the best possible user experience, from application
availability to information security, in virtual, cloud and physical
environments.”
ManageEngine Highlights at VMworld 2012
At VMworld, ManageEngine will demonstrate products and profile use cases
that address today’s security concerns as well as ongoing operational
challenges.
-
Password
Manager Pro is a secure vault for storing and managing shared
sensitive information, such as passwords, documents and digital
identities of enterprises. Password Manager Pro eliminates password
fatigue and security lapses, automates frequent password changes
required in critical systems, provides preventive and detective
security controls and meets security audits and regulatory compliance,
such as SOX, HIPAA and PCI. At the show, ManageEngine will be
demonstrating how Password Manager Pro improves data center operations
by now managing privileged passwords for VMware vSphere®.
-
The IT360
dashboard provides CIOs and IT managers a 360-degree view across IT to
proactively monitor performance. It is designed to monitor and manage
IT infrastructures for medium and large enterprises, and it adds a
business context to monitoring IT resources to help the various
stakeholders understand the impact of downtimes on the business. IT360
comprises network performance, server and application performance,
database performance, and end-user experience management. ManageEngine
will be at the show to announce and demonstrate the latest release of
IT360, including VMware vCenter™ Server support for deeper visibility
into VMware vSphere deployments.
-
Applications
Manager helps businesses ensure high availability and
performance for their business applications by ensuring servers and
applications have high uptime. At the show, ManageEngine will be
demonstrating Applications Manager with the addition of capacity
planning reports to its virtualization monitoring. The capacity
planning reports cover multi-vendor virtualization platforms as well
as servers and applications, helping IT teams prevent performance
bottlenecks, optimize resources and maximize the availability of their
virtual infrastructure.

The new OpManager
VMware resource automation feature enables VM administrators to
re-size their VMs in accordance with their peak utilization. Using the
vCenter APIs, OpManager can now periodically compare each VM’s peak
utilization against the allotted resource settings and can
automatically re-size the VMs to 10 percent more than the peak
utilization, so that the VMs remain lean and fit. At VMworld,
OpManager will preview the memory re-sizing option in beta.
