MEMS
Industry Group® (MIG), the industry organization advancing
micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) across global markets, today
reaffirmed its engagement in the content of SEMICON West’s MEMS
conference track, as well as its support of the exposition line-up for SEMICON
West 2012, the flagship annual event for the global microelectronics
industry.
During the MEMS full-day conference session at SEMICON West, “Taking
MEMS to the Next Level: Transitioning to a Profitable High-Volume
Business,” speakers will explore ways in which MEMS suppliers are
adapting manufacturing infrastructure and integration strategies to meet
surging market demand.
MIG also has a presence on the SEMICON West show floor. Joined by
member-companies Innovative
Micro Technology (IMT), IQE
Silicon, n&k
Technology, Oxford
Instruments and XACTIX,
the MIG Pavilion and MEMS lounge are located in the South Hall, Booth
2731 of San Francisco’s Moscone Center.
“MIG is pleased to expand our collaboration with SEMI, to ensure that
MEMS has a significant role in the programming, content and exhibition
at SEMICON West 2012,” said Karen Lightman, managing director, MEMS
Industry Group. “With phenomenal double-digit growth in the MEMS
industry, it is clear that MEMS is now in the mainstream. It is
therefore critical that we address the remaining commercialization and
fabrication challenges to sustaining our growth. Joining many facets of
the MEMS supply chain, SEMICON West is an ideal forum for discussing how
to take MEMS to the next level.”
“With applications and technology developments accelerating, the
worldwide MEMS market has never been more dynamic,” said Tom Morrow,
executive vice president, SEMI. “With MIG’s leadership, support and
guidance, the MEMS programs at SEMICON West address the critical
challenges, issues and solutions that industry stakeholders need to know
to be successful in the rapidly evolving MEMS marketplace.“

About SEMICON West
SEMICON West is the flagship annual event for the global
microelectronics industry. It is the premier event for the display of
new products and technologies for microelectronics design and
manufacturing, featuring technologies from across the microelectronics
supply chain, from electronic design automation, to device fabrication
(wafer processing), to final manufacturing (assembly, packaging, and
test). More than semiconductors, SEMICON West is also a showcase for
emerging markets and technologies born from the microelectronics
industry, including MEMS, photovoltaics (PV), flexible electronics and
displays, nano-electronics, solid state lighting (LEDs), and related
technologies. For more information, visit www.semiconwest.org.
