Is she for real? If ever there was a juvenile, wrong-footed and snobby
piece of writing, this is it! Instead of advocating the true advantages
of 7 (such as they are), we are treated with this tripe:

No, of course not. Instead I want to carry an oversized phone sporting
hundreds of functions that I never use and costing hundreds more than
the non-expiring minutes for which I could prepay. And, of course, I
want no protection for the display so it gets all scratched up rather
than having a flip cover to keep it protected.

Here is an obvious boob that has been thoroughly drilled in the
marketing mantra that newer is better and you must have the toy with the
most gadgetry whether you use them or not. That this boob even thinks
it is a necessity to carry around a cell phone at all times shows how
well trained she is by marketing to control what she thinks is critical
to her existence.

I carry a Motorola flip phone that gives me double-minutes that never
expire and that I never use up since I'm not grafted to the cell phone.
I've seen boobs spending over $200/month whereas I don't even use up my
prepaid $100 of 1000 minutes in a whole year. Yeah, I should spend
money on stuff that I don't need - like upgrading to an OS that give
*me* no bang for the buck. Oh yes, like a lemming I should just follow
the crowd to fall off the next Windows version cliff.

something not relevant to the argument. Apparently her newest toy won't
play tunes older than 5 years ago.

concerned about what is "in" for hairdo at the time. They go to a party
and get pissed that some other gal is wearing the same dress while all
the guys are all dressed the same and don't care.

When I was a teen in chemistry class, the teacher thought to insult me
by saying that I'll go bald in my early twenties. That was when long
hair was in (but not with me since I had been sporting a crew cut since
I was 6). My retort was "Great, that means I won't have to bother with
any haircuts anymore". He looked at me a bit surprised and realized his
insult didn't land. Now in my mid-fifties, I've still got the hair and
still considering to shave it off but keep it short for now. Yep, same
do for over 30 years while this fashion fearful has to worry about
what's in this month.

Now there shows the stupidity of the author. Better only applies if it
is better for YOU, not for Microsoft's bottom line. In fact, when
pushed, users that bought Windows 7 (rather than those that got stuck
with what the prebuilt computer maker put on the host) are hard pressed
to come up with legit reasons why they upgraded. All they can really
say is that it is new. Big deal. My old shovel still works the same
way it always did and I don't need to buy a new shovel to do what I
already do with the old one.

Yeah, make the desktop really noisy rather than efficient. Yeah, don't
bother using Start -> Favorites to see them pop up in your face. I've
seen lots of users pile tons of junk on their desktop, in the taskbar,
and not bother to organize their Start menu in hierarchical fashion
because they're too lazy or think a flat view is easier. Then stand
there waiting while they're hunting around trying to find the right
place to click when you tell them to load a particular program. Their
mouse goes flying all over the place. Here, no there, maybe over there.

Been doing that for years now with Windows XP and 3rd party software.
So I'm suppose to pay Microsoft to finally play catch up, huh?

Some users just don't realize how well they expose themself as ignorant.
Trivia is not why you get a new OS and incur another learning curve.

I might end up using Windows 7 on my personal hosts, like maybe I get it
as a perk for a new job/contract or seminar. Unlike this twit author, I
evaluate an OS to see if it'll do what *I* want to do, not how someone
else wants me to do it, and I don't turn trivia in critical need. I've
been disappointed in Microsoft's efforts in both Vista and 7. Just no
wow-factor yet, nothing special to make me part with my money.

I bet this boob buys a whole new car just because the new one comes with
electically-adjustable sun visors, more cup holders with warmer plates
for her coffee, a differently patterned dash plate, and the driver seat
rotates 90 degrees for easy exit. Ooooh, yeah, just the reason to
discard an already-paid vehicle and start a whole 'nother loan on a new
one. Yeah, toss a working OS that meets all your needs and can perform
all your tasks because the skin changed in new version and more non-OS
fluffware got added.

If you have a provable requirement for Windows 7 then get it. From what
I've seen of most Windows 7 users, they didn't need it. When asked what
Windows 7 gives them that they really needed that Windows XP couldn't do
for them, they look like deer caught in headlights. That consumer
throng to a product doesn't prove intelligence is employed by those
consumers. Look at all the boobs that stood in long lines at the malls
to buy beany babies and cabbage patch dolls. It's about marketing, not
about need.
