MiniFrame
and LG
Electronics (LG) announce a strategic partnership to offer a joint
solution for the Point of Sale (POS) market. The joint solution includes
new LG network POS (Multi POS) monitors and MiniFrame's SoftXpand
desktop virtualization software.
With SoftXpand, any PC can be shared among multiple concurrent users
providing virtual desktop workstations. Each workstation operates
independently and offers top performance and high flexibility. That
means each user may run several applications simultaneously, including
POS-oriented programs.
MiniFrame and LG offer a total POS multi-seat solution where 1 PC is
connected to as many as 5 POS virtual workstations over a network. Each
POS workstation may include a Touch Screen Monitor, audio output, a
receipt printer and other POS peripherals; and is connected over a
TCP/IP network to the host PC running the SoftXpand software.
“LG has drawn on its years of experience and proven technologies to push
forward in this field of developing new digital hardware in partnership
with MiniFrame, which has unrivaled expertise in software development”
said Si Hwan Park, Vice President of Monitor Division of LG Home
Entertainment Company. Bringing together two industry leaders, this
partnership is certain to provide groundbreaking solutions that greatly
enhance the value and efficiency of our customers’ businesses.”
"We are very proud to partner with a recognized world leader in smart
electronics to provide an innovative and cost effective solution for the
large POS market demand. This landmark partnership shows the unstoppable
momentum of IT infrastructure moving to desktop virtualization.
Combining LG monitors with our award-winning desktop virtualization
software SoftXpand creates the optimal solution for today's
cost-conscious businesses. We strongly believe that the joint multi-seat
solution has the potential to be a game-changer for the POS market,
where the emphasis is on helping customers and businesses achieve the
most cost efficient solutions, eliminating high investment in IT
infrastructure and maintenance" said Raz Rafaeli, MiniFrame’s CEO.
The joint solution between MiniFrame and LG will be offered globally to
customers through LG channel partner network and System Integrators.
