December/January mobile games

Let’s take a look at the happenings over the last two months in the field of mobile Java games and smartphones. A lot of new features have been unveiled and the iPhone is now on a lot of programmer’s games lists. Announcements, launches and negatives are all noted here in this edition which brings together known and unknown editors, license adaptations and new ideas in pictures and videos!

The Simpson’s: Itchy and Scratchy Land
A lot of happened at EA Mobile in December and January, with numerous games released. We will start with the universe of the Simpson’s, when the family visits Itchy and Scratchy land. Of course, the disasters follow one after the other, with different enemies presenting themselves in this hostile environment.

Dakar 09
In December, Dakar 09 was launched providing you with the atmosphere of this famous race. In this version, you have to complete different tracks in South American countries so as to reach Buenos Aires at the head of the championship.

Cluedo
The maker also hasn’t forgotten the classics, with popular board games having been adapted to the mobile universe. Here we find the famous Cluedo as a mobile phone version, where it’s up to you to work out who committed the crime, with which weapon and in which room.

Cluedo Mobile puts the player in the skin of a young reporter who is trying to advance their career quickly by resolving the affair.

Super Puzzle Bobble
Finally, you can find the dinosaurs Bub and Bob in this mobile adaptation of Super Puzzle Bobble, the Taito game where you have to use a canon to form groups of bubbles of the same color. This adaptation follows the same lines as the original, providing you with tension on each of the progressive levels.

Trivial Pursuit
Of the games released in January, the maker is offering a mobile version of Trivial Pursuit, the famous board game. This version includes more then 1000 questions, with the game play being adapted to mobile phones.

You can test your knowledge in a wide range of fields in the classic mode or the new pursuit mode, where you have to be the first to cross the line.

Connect 4 and Battleship

In the same way, you can find the well known Connect 4 where you have to align four tokens of the same color while preventing your opponent from doing the same. In the same genre, Battleship has also been released as a mobile version, with the fleet being placed around the board while trying to destroy your opponent’s ships.

Wolfenstein RPG
We announced it a few months ago and now it has been officially announced: Wolfenstein RPG will be available on mobile telephones. Nine levels will be provided for players, allowing them to saver this 3D world with a consequential arsenal.

Your opponents came from a division of the Axis of evils paranormal department, and they will be doing everything possible to stop you from advancing.

Risk
Finally, EA Mobile launched another great board game classic in January: Risk. The game play has been adapted for mobile phones, but the games principles remain the same: conquer the world, protect your territories and reinforce your army.

Fans with different strategies can now test them by choosing to either dominate the world or to take on an impenetrable continent.
