Activate the mouse clicklock under Windows

October 27th, 2010 - 07:10 am ET by D. T.

Under Windows, when you want to move an object with the help of the mouse (window, file, etc.), you simply need to select the object with the right mouse button and drag it to the destination while holding the button down. Once it is in the right location, you release the moue button and the move will take effect.

Two rules allow you to do things a little differently as some users may prefer, with the election of an object, to lock the cursor while moving the window so that you don’t have to hold the mouse button down.

To do this, open the start menu and launch the control panel.

In the window which is displayed, check the "Turn on clicklock" and click on the "Settings" button. In the small window which opens, drag the ruler to the left and click on OK. Click on OK once more to close the mouse configuration options.
