New sbs 2003 advise

Steve is correct you don't need to change it
Just keep away from 192.168.0.xxx or 192.168.1.xxx if you ever plan to use
VPN

If you are changing it "AFTER" SBS is installed
Please use the Change IP wizard or things will get messed up.

Steve is also correct that exchange must be online.
However, one way to grab Public Folders
is to login to a PC as domain administrator
open up Outlook 2003 or 2007
and grab the folders down to a PST.

Exchange must be on online for Exmerge to work. Using it while the
previous SBS was running would have been best. Also note that Exmerge will
not export public folders. If you use all the same naming parameters
etc.with the new SBS it's possible you can forklift the database files
into the new SBS.

If I have a previous exchange data store files priv1.*. Can I use exmerge
to extract emails from them to import into my new exchange i.e. would
exmerge work without exchange data store files being online?
