The North
Carolina Technology Association (NCTA), the primary voice of the
technology industry in North Carolina, today announced nominations are
open for the NCTA
21 Awards. This year’s awards will honor organizations in 18
corporate categories and executives in three individual categories.
Companies do not need to be members of NCTA to enter and the deadline
for applications is August 31, 2012.
This year’s new online nomination process and awards microsite
comes as a result of a partnership with NCTA member company OpenGambit
Technologies. Third parties can nominate a company, organization or
institution that is not their own employer using the site’s online
nomination form. Self-nominations may be submitted using the online
application form. The microsite also contains a database of winners
from the past 18 years.
“Since 1995, the NCTA 21 Awards has honored North Carolina’s best
technologies and most promising companies. We encourage both member and
non-member companies to apply and join the ranks of the most innovative
tech companies in the state,” said Brooks Raiford, President and CEO,
NCTA.
Award finalists, which are announced in early October, are selected by a
review committee comprised of non-profit, media, education, and
technology leaders representing various regions of the state. The awards
will once again recognize a “Technology Executive of the Year,” which
will be decided by popular vote through an online poll. Winners will be
announced and recognized at the annual awards gala, presented in
conjunction with title sponsor Grant Thornton on Thursday, November 8,
2012 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham, N.C.
