Ocean County College has partnered with ESM and Pearson to deliver the
services and technologies that will enable the school to dramatically
expand online learning opportunities for students. Until now, Ocean
County College offered individual online courses. With the
implementation of full online degree programs, the school is looking to
grow from 7,000 enrollments to 21,000 enrollments over the next five
years.
“Our partnership with Pearson and ESM is key to helping us deliver a
high growth, rigorous and quality online learning program,” said Dr. Jon
H. Larson, president of Ocean County College. “Not only will our
students have greater access to affordable online opportunities, but
they also will receive an increased level of support throughout their
education in order to make sure their needs are being met at each and
every stage.”
ESM will deliver recruitment and retention services across the student
lifecycle, helping Ocean County College grow enrollments and support
students from the initial inquiry throughout the learning experience.
The company’s enrollment services will guide students through the
admissions process, and its retention services will help students stay
engaged through graduation.
Pearson will provide the Pearson LearningStudio, its learning management
system, for the delivery of Ocean County College programs. Additionally,
Pearson will provide Enterprise Reporting to monitor and analyze trends
in student performance, and Learning Outcome Manager to track the
achievement of learning objectives and goals.
“Community colleges continue to face growing demand from students for
access to affordable, flexible learning opportunities. Our partnership
with Ocean County College and ESM is providing the technology and
innovative learning solutions necessary to create more capacity and
support Ocean County students' achievement and career success,” said
Matt Leavy, CEO of Pearson eCollege.
“Online students often have more outside responsibilities and pressures
that can impact their ability to graduate,” said Doug Kelsall, CEO of
ESM. “Ocean County College is taking the right steps to not only make
sure they are delivering the kinds of programs that students need, but
that they are providing the technology and services that will position
students for success. More students will be able to achieve their
academic and career goals because of the college’s vision.”
