An additional module integrated into OS X Snow Leopard
An additional module will be present to provide access to the Mac App Store under OS X 10.6.6. The process to install the online download platform is rather simple, and if you don’t get an alert about the availability of the automatic updates, then you can install the program yourself by pressing the Apple menu/Software updates. The new function will then be made available after a reboot. It will be available in the dock and is symbolised by an "A" in the Apple menu/App Store.

Create an Apple account, if you don’t already have one
You will need to create an Apple ID to be able to download free and commercial content. It is likely that you have already created such an account at the iTunes Store, iChat, MobileMe, online Apple Store, Apple Store or even Assistance at Apple.com. If this is not the case, the Mac App Store will send you to the following address https://appleid.apple.com. We recommend that you read the contract that you are signing in "Apple’s client confidentiality agreement" as this provides details about your private life protection rights.

The interface is clear and effective - thanks Apple!
After having entered your email address and password you will find yourself connected to the Mac App Store. You will have access to numerous sections from this front page, with tabs for new releases and Favourite Apps. You can also see the thousands of apps available in their different classifications (Purchase, Free, best value) which are scored by users, and the number of downloads with twenty categories available (Games, Photography, Sports, Holidays, Business, Video, Music, Productivity, etc.). Freely searching the store is also very effective, with the service been kept very simple for users.
