Multimedia player: VLC media player

It has conquered millions of internet users, with it being THE universal player! All audio and video codecs are integrated by default, with it being able to play audio (mp3, WAV, OGG), video (Avi, Mpg, DivX) with their subtitles (SRT, SUB), and playlists (M3U, PLS). It is capable of reading streaming files like web radios, internet and even internet TV channels.

Picture editing: Paint.Net

By far one of the best image editing programs for digital pictures. The essentials are here with design tools, picture correction modules (lighting, gamma, automatic levels, and tint/saturation), the surplus with effects (blurry, clear, oil painting, red eye, pixelisation, etc), with a memory so that you can undo changes and manage calcs.
