openSUSE 12.1 KDE - System Information Question

July 17th, 2012 - 09:46 am ET by Tecknomage | Report spam
I have a laptop that I use to learn Linux. I tried *Ubuntu* and
*Linux Mint 10*.

I now have *openSUSE 12.1* with the KDE desktop.

It *openSUSE* does have a "System Information" utility, BUT.

The *Linux Mint 10* "System Information" utility has a report feature
which would generate a report of ALL my system (not just file system)
I could print.

The *openSUSE* "System Information" seems to be a WEB-based utility
and I cannot get it to generate a FULL SYSTEM report.

There is a [Print] option, but the print dialog is automatically
closing BEFORE I can do anything. If I can click [Print} in the
dialog, it generates a "print.pdf" but ONLY of the window I am in,
like a screenshot of an active window.

What am I doing wrong?

Is there a KDE compatible utility that would generate a report of
everything on my *openSUSE* laptop?

Yast -> Hardware -> Hardware information
(but i dont know if you can print it)

otherwise: hwinfo --verbose > hwinfo.txt
