Perform a computer backup

Windows 7 has an assistant which helps users create a backup of their system, allowing them to recover personal data in the event the computer crashes. Here is how you can use it.

Go to the Start menu, and in the advanced search field enter “Backup”. Then click on the “Backup computer” result.

In the new window which is displayed, click on “Configure the backup”.

Select the save location of the backup, which can be on another hard drive, external hard drive or memory stick, and click on “Next”.

Then select the data that you want to be backed up, either through the default options provided by the assistant or by choosing the folders yourself. Then click on “Next”.

You now just need to launch the backup process. It should also be noted that it is possible to schedule this for future use.
