PlayPhone and Perfect World Announce Strategic Partnership

PlayPhone®, Inc., a global leader in mobile social gaming, today announced an agreement with Perfect World Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: PWRD), a leading online game developer and operator based in China, to bring a slate of Perfect World’s mobile games to the PlayPhone cross-platform mobile social gaming network. Perfect World has a number of mobile social games in development with Fish Star (Android and iOS) and Golden Coins for Panda (Android and iOS) among the first to be released on the PlayPhone platform. Deal terms include all global markets excluding Japan and China.

Headquartered in Beijing, Perfect World is one of the best-known global game developers, producing several hit massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) franchises, such as Jade Dynasty, Forsaken World and Perfect World, which has more than 50 million players. Both its MMORPG and casual games offerings operate under the freemium model, the industry standard for monetization in the mobile social gaming arena. Perfect World benefits from a global presence with game development operations in China, North America, Europe, and Japan.

With distinguishing features that include cross-platform support, turnkey consumer billing options, network-wide unified currency, and social and community rewards, PlayPhone is securing support from the best game developers for its PlayPhone mobile social platform, with more than 1,300 developers signed up to access its SDKs. In addition to Perfect World, PlayPhone has recently signed up China Wireless Arts, Magic Universe, Tandem Games, Cozy Games, and many more renowned developers.
