Asia's largest bio event, "BIO tech 2012 in Japan" (Int'l Bio Technology Exhibition & Conference) was held from April 25 to 27 in Tokyo. Co-held with Conference consisting of 261 sessions, it gathered 498 exhibitors and 15,814 visitors from around the world. Being the first time renewed as "BIO tech in Japan" from "INT'L BIO FORUM & BIO EXPO JAPAN", there were increased number of appreciative comments from both exhibitors and visitors. exhibitors and 15,814 visitors from around the world. Renewed as "BIO
tech in Japan" from "INT'L BIO FORUM & BIO EXPO JAPAN", there were
increased number of appreciative comments from both exhibitors and
visitors.
The followings are the highlights from BIO tech 2012, which concluded in
huge success.
1) Partnering – Partnering deals and new business were
generated here.
The 2012 show was a commemorable one, in the sense that BIO tech has
further strengthened itself as a full-scale partnering event. Through
the online "Bio Partnering System" and on-site meetings, many partnering
opportunities were generated among exhibitors, academics and visitors
including Pharma
Company Sponsors.
Above all other partnering events worldwide, BIO tech 2012 had its
strength in gathering a large number of academics rich in
bio/pharma-related seeds, due to the presence of the "Academic Forum".
Academic Forum 2012 proved itself as a platform for "business-academia
collaboration", gathering 198 presenters (largest-ever) from
universities/institutes such as RIKEN, The University of Tokyo, Kyoto
University and many others.
Among presentations on various themes, the followings were the Top 5
popular sessions.

companies from around the world, BIO tech 2012 attracted a large number
of professionals from pharmaceutical companies from home and abroad.
2) Exhibition – Exhibitors satisfaction was greatly increased.
The renewal was favorably received by exhibitors as well, who have
achieved highly successful results. The followings are some of the

We exhibit at BIO tech
every year, since it has always led to successful results. Especially
this year, we expect even bigger achievement, with 200 meetings on-site,
5 orders and sales for approx. USD 500,000.

3) Conference – Asia's leading conference with 4,942 attendees.
One of the most popular sessions was the Keynote
Session, addressed by Vice President of Merck's vaccines discovery,
Prof. Kodama from The University of Tokyo; pioneer of IT based drug
development, and the project leader of Novo Nordisk's biopharmaceutical
business. Covering the current hot topics, it served as an essential
opportunity to forecast the prospects of the bio/pharma industry. >>

tech 2013 in Japan" will take place with larger scale on May
8-10, 2013 at Tokyo Big Sight.
