Preview of GTA: The Ballard of Gay Tony

The second mission consists of you taking over a metro car being escorted by helicopters. So that you can be aerially extracted, the player will have to get heavy with an AA-12: a pump action gun automatically armed with explosive bullets. This is a weapon which ravages both vehicles and people alike.

The third mission provides you with the possibility of using sticky bombs. These improvised explosives can be released at any time, and from a distance. To succeed in this mission, you will have to observe and judiciously place the bombs so that they reduce your adversary’s movement as much as possible.

To then neutralise the survivors, you will have to use the FN M249, a light chain gun which puts you in control of a wave of bullets. The final mission requires a lot of patience and a good helicopter pilot, with the mission being very gung-ho. We were able to witness with this new DLC a game rich in action - playing its role in the series perfectly.

At another time these kinds of releases were lacking animation and diversity. This is fortunately no longer the case thanks to Rockstar. As well as this, most of the missions on offer regularly use the parachute which provides you with a great feeling of freedom. While the engine hasn’t seen a lot of improvements made to it, the visual atmosphere has been very well adapted.

As a reminder, this DLC puts you in control of Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince and his bodyguard Luis Fernando Lopez’s adventures. The first guy owns two very popular nightclubs in Liberty City. Unfortunately he made some poor decisions and bought in some dodgy investors.

The player will have to try and put everything back into order, get rid of the competition, while remaining loyal to their friends and family. Rockstar has also taken the advantage of including new musical tracks and vehicles. In the end, this new content should ensure that the game has a lot of success, as the release fills in the aspects which were perhaps missing from the original game.

This helps develop the links with the previous releases while still providing the player with the great freedom provided in Liberty City. We now just need to see what the lifespan of the game is and how far the limits will be pushed over and above current DLC games. Simply, this is a DLC in the style that we would love to see more often.

GTA The Ballad of Gay Tony will be release on the 29th of October on Xbox Live for 1600 MS Points. In addition it will be available in the Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City pack which will also contain The Lost and Damned. While this will cost $60, it will have the advantage of being independent and not requiring the original game.
