We should first of all state that this is a next-gen version planned for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. We weren’t able to get our hands on the Wii, DS and PSP versions which are different and have been developed by distinct studios. No difference is planned between the three next-gen supports besides the use of their peripheral devices.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen comes straight out of the original film produced by Michael Bay (The Rock, Armageddon), following in the tracks of the film. The producers of True Crime wanted to go even further then creating a simple transplant by instead offering gamers missions that are new to the film, and this is a good thing.
The developers have taken the time to listen to their fans who criticized the first release for being too boxed in. This is why this second installment provides you with a lot more freedom of movement. You shouldn’t be hoping to play out in the streets of New York in the same way as a Grand Theft Auto, as it’s far from that.

As always, you have the possibility of playing either the side of Autobots or the Decepticons, and you can also choose the order you want to complete the missions via a map of the world which really highlights the international aspect of the film, and by extension, the game. Gone are the silly missions linked one after the other, and say hello to some diversity.
While you can choose the missions, it is mainly thanks to the presence of the secondary missions. These don’t affect the way the scenario plays out on the main missions, but instead increase the player’s finances. Each time you kill one of the enemy, with some style if possible, you will recover light orbs which allow you to improve your character.
These improvements are done in your head quarters which are used as a link between the different missions. They also change the power of your robot and allow you to use your weapons continually. This small RPG aspect is available with all of the characters, with it being possible to choose your favorite character in most of the missions.
