Processors with integrated antivirus protection

Intel will start offering processors with integrated antivirus solutions to assure the protection of systems, or even better, to offer additional protection against malicious software.

Intel-logoDuring the IDF show in San Francisco, USA, the world’s leading processor manufacturer Intel and computer security software developer McAfee have announced the integration of McAfee’s DeepSAFE technology to Intel’s processors.

For the two partner companies, this is a complete approach in terms of computer security. The DeepSAFE technology uses the systems hardware to systematically install defences in case the user forgets to install protection at the operating system level. Even better, this will also provide a second barrier in the event that software protection is installed at the OS level, with it active night and day, without it being possible to be hijacked by malicious software.

The DeepSAFE protection will be integrated over the coming months so that laptop computers and tactile tablets can benefit from the additional protection.
