PureView to soon be in the Lumia range according to Nokia

The PureView technology present in the Nokia 808 will be integrated into the Lumia range of Windows Phones. This news has been announced by a top manager at Nokia.

Present on the Nokia 808 running Nokia Belle (Symbian), the PureView technology calls on a 41 mega pixel CMOS lens. Users are able to zoom into a part of the pictures, while also having a clearer picture so that it looks more like something taken with a digital zoom.

This technology will now be present in the company’s Lumia range of phones. Richard Kerris, international relations manager with developers at Nokia, has confirmed the news to Neowin.

Questions on whether users could see the PureView technology deployed on the Lumia range of phones, Kerris confirmed that this would be the case "very soon."

We could therefore see the Lumia technology on the next generation of phones released with Windows Phone 8.

Kerris has also confirmed that Windows Phone 7 owners wouldn’t be able to upgrade to WP8 (the latest models will have WP7.8 though). But this news has already been known since the Windows Phone 8 presentation on the 20th of June 2012.Nokia 808 PureView
