Radiant Systems Sprint for Cancer Races Donate Nearly $200,000 to Local Pediatric Cancer CausesNational charity race unites local communities in the fight against cancer.

Radiant Charity Corporation, the nonprofit organization supported by Radiant Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: RADS) is pleased to announce that its 2011 Sprint for Cancer charity races raised nearly $200,000 to support pediatric cancer causes across the country. Sprint for Cancer is a family-friendly event with a fun run, 5K, 10K and other varying distances that has raised over $800,000 during the course of its nine year history.

Sprint for Cancer originated in Atlanta, Ga. in 2003 and expanded over the past three years to become a national race with events in Dallas/Fort Worth, Irvine, Calif. and Memphis, Tenn. In total, close to 2,500 participants and volunteers contributed to the success of this year’s races. With donations from numerous corporate sponsors and employee fundraising, Sprint for Cancer exceeded its anticipated fundraising and participation goals. Race details are as follows:

  • Sprint for Cancer Atlanta – held April 16 - $125,000 donated to pediatric cancer research at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
  • Sprint for Cancer Dallas/Fort Worth – held April 16 - $36,000 donated to Young Texans Against Cancer, which will be used to support the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Medical Center and Medical City Children’s Hospital’s Camp H.O.P.E.
  • Sprint for Cancer Irvine – held May 1 - $30,000 donated to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation through its Cinco de Mayo Reaching for the Cure event
  • Sprint for Cancer Memphis – to be held October 15, 2011
