announced the appointment of Rick Simonson as Chief Financial Officer
and President, Business Operations. A seasoned executive with extensive
global experience in operations, finance and capital markets, Mr.
Simonson will be responsible for driving operational efficiencies,
managing cost-effective growth, allocating capital strategically while
assisting with the expansion of the company’s ecosystem.

Mr. Simonson served as Nokia Corporation’s CFO for six years before
leading the company’s Mobile Phones business. As CFO, Mr. Simonson had
responsibility for group Finance and Control, Internal Audit, Treasury,
Investor Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions, Indirect Sourcing and
Venture Capital Investments. During his tenure at Nokia, Rick was a
member of the Group Executive Board of Nokia for six years.
Prior to Nokia Corporation, Mr. Simonson spent 16 years in banking most
of which were at Bank of America Securities based in San Francisco,
where his last position was Managing Director & Head of Global Project
Finance, Global Corporate & Investment Bank. Global Project Finance
provided advisory and debt capital raising services to major global
operators and vendors in the Telecommunication, Power, Oil & Gas and
Infrastructure industries.
Mr. Simonson serves as Lead Director of Electronic Arts and as a member
of the Board and Audit Committee Chair of Silver Spring Networks. He is
also a Trustee of the International House – New York, a not for profit
educational organization. Mr. Simonson holds a bachelor's degree in
science and mining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and a
master's degree in business administration and finance from the Wharton
School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
