Colin McRae Dirt 2

About two years since the Colin McRae series took a 180 degree turn by adopting the DIRT format, we now find the follow up to a game we found interesting on the main points like overall finish, while certain parts of the game play left us looking for more. You will have surely guessed that Colin McRae Dirt 2 once again provides you with the changes seen in the series. This is the price you pay to have the word “dirt” in the title, so you can forget about the 09 release names etc. This is because in this game you will be behind the wheel of a used vehicle. You should therefore forget about this game is you believe playing this Colin McRae will put you in the WRC.

You will find a few “WRC like” challenges as you start out one test after another and in the space of a few minutes you will attack a course with a co-pilot who will yell out instructions like “60-average-right” which indicates the corner you will have to take. Despite this, there aren’t many of these challenges on offer as you will be confronting other challenges.

When starting out it will be obvious that competing WRC type games are nothing like this one. Colin McRae dirt is something the resembles more like Fuel or Pure, which means off road races on all terrains, with the goal being to arrive first by taking a few shortcuts.
