Windows Media Center, your multimedia content manager (audio, photos, videos, TV, DVD, radio stations) has improved with every new release. The latest engine is provided in the top of the line Windows 7 releases. A warmer welcome menu, compatible with hardware acceleration, native H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and VC-1 decoding, support for DVB-T(digital), S(atellite) and C(able) cards, sharing possibilities locally, remotely or through simplified network folders (UPnP)... Windows Media center is a program included in the top of the range versions of Vista and Seven in addition to Windows XP Media center Edition. We will be particularly looking at the version included with Seven in this article. With its simplified and good looking graphical interface, your PC can become a real all-in-one device for entertainment! This easy to use application allows you to completely manage all of your multimedia content. You are able to organise your multimedia libraries either via the use of a remote control, keyboard or mouse, and then listen to music files, watch DVD’s and other video files, create slideshows, edit photos or even project this all to their television screen…

Watching the TV in HD while taking advantage of the digital recorder...

If you have a TV tuner, even more possibilities will open up to you. These include watching HD television channels, viewing the electronic TV guide, using a complete digital recorder or listening to your favourite radio stations.
