Morbucus, a character also present in the previous games, starts to revel in this release. He starts to become a little nasty in this release, with his aim being to bring down this happy and charming universe. Over the course of the game you will have to derail his plans, one after the other, with a lot of the citizens having issues that they bring to you daily so that you can help them. You investigative powers will be quickly bought up to speed through a small tutorial, allowing you then to restore peace and quiet to this cheerful setting.

You begin the adventure with very little other then the motivation to do whatever is necessary to put things back to the way they were. Your investigations will be simple to follow as points of interest will be represented by exclamation marks over the head of victims. This will then always play out in the same way, as you have to simply talk to the inhabitants to get the information you need, to use your magnifying glass to look closer at objects and to look through the rubbish or boxes to try and find clues. The puzzle will automatically be completed without you needing to even come to your own conclusions. This is rather simple for an experienced public, but sufficiently well done to captivate younger players and keep them motivated to continue in the story.

Your success in the first investigations will allow you to obtain the rank of special agent and take control of a HQ. This is an office where you can recruit young agents so that they can look at secondary problems. At the same time, since you are the “boss”, these young recruits will continually harass you via the telephone and request your help in their investigations. You also have a private jet which will take you to far away destinations, as well as having a team that is at your service.

Scientific investigations will also be part of the game, although these are once again easy to complete as it is nothing more then a simple puzzle. Very quickly, your investigation tools will be improved, becoming more modern, providing you with a very powerful detector and a special area so that you can outlay all of the required pieces to be able to solve the investigations. The order of the day is in ease of use and the execution of the tasks, with MySims Agents being very simple for younger players to be able to navigate through. Even if your child gets lost, they can always look at their notebook which will indicate the actions that still need to be done to complete the investigation.
