ShadowProtect 4: Not a second to lose and no data lost!

We are used to using "Bare metal Restore" back up and restoration tools which we believe are indispensible for workstations, with ShadowProtect Desktop 4 offering this and more. This tool protects your data in real time, backs up your system configuration (full, incremental, differential) on either a local hard drive or network drive, with a restore being done extremely quickly in the event your computer is compromised! When you have a technical problem, the user won’t lose any time and will be able to continue working by using a backup converted into a virtual machine (VirtualBox, VMWare, VirtualPC), even while the physical restore of the drive is being done in the background.

Visual notifications and alerts
After completing a backup, the administrator can be informed about its status via a simple window which is not activated by default. To see this, you have to go into the Options menu, Client Options and select "On" for the two options "Display for successful backups" and "Display for failed backups". You should then also go to Agent Options, as a series of settings are available to help you configure email notifications (SMTP server, SMTP port, destination email address, personalised subject, use of SSL, send an email in the event of...).

Backup Tasks/Backup History
The tab dedicated to "Backup Tasks" will show you a lot more than just the currently running tasks. Here you will also be able to see all previous actions made via the mouse’s right click button (Execute, File being written to, Delete task, disable…). The "Backup History" tab details all events (start up, back up, snapshot, processes status…), and it is possible to export these logs by using the CTRL+A keyboard shortcut (Select all) and the Copy button (to notepad, for example).

ISOTool: burning an ISO image, rip a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray to an ISO
In the start menu, click on the ShadowProtect group and you will find a complimentary tool for burning ISO files called "ISOTool". This tool can be very useful for an administrator as it allows them to burn ISO files on any media they wish (CD, DVD, Blu-ray). You can also "rip" files, which means extract a CD/DVD/Blu-ray’s contents into an ISO file.
