The success of Thunderbird version 2.0, although with a lot of options, is still rather mixed, with the program never becoming a user favourite. With version 3.0 of their open and free email client, the Mozilla Foundation is hoping to convince users to swap from the traditional Outlook Express, Windows Mail and the excellent MS Outlook 2003/2007 or the soon to be released 2010 final version. This third release of Thunderbird has everything required to please users including email on tabs, fast searching of your messages through an index service, newsgroups, blogs, RSS feeds, a classic or vertical display of your messages and customisations similar to Firefox (additional modules, graphical themes, toolbars). To complete the table, the program is available for Windows, MAC OS X and the major distributions of Linux! Let’s discover the program through this review.
