Stable version of Debian 7.0 available for download
It was promised for release in the first week of May 2013, with the stable version 7.0 of the Linux Debian system meeting its release date. After numerous months in development, Debian Wheezy is finally available for download.

I think your issue may have been in partitioning the SD card. The netinst image IS ITSELF bootable. What you need to do is: dd if=netinst.iso of=/dev/sdb ... That is, write the ISO directly to the whole device, rather than to a partition. See the ...
